Multi-View Image Processing

Enhancing Situational Awarness

Rapidly sharing information from multiple laptops, surveillance feeds, and other video sources is critical to achieving situational awareness in the field. Logistical constraints dictate that most TOC environments will only have so many projectors or flat panel displays available, typically far fewer than the number of of inputs that need to be shared. That is where multi-view (also known as quad view) image processing technology comes in.

By pairing an AVDC system (Audio/Video Distribution Center) with a tactical projector system or video wall users can map multiple video inputs to a single video output. Our AVDCs are available in configurations ranging from 1-3 quad view image processors, allowing for up to 12 inputs to be displayed across three screens.

Trend towards larger display dimensions

The utility of quad view image processors has only increased as tactical display dimensions grow larger. With Power Lift Displays now available in sizes up to 98” end users can now pack fewer systems, but still have the ability to share multiple inputs when the system is packaged with an AVDC. Because these displays are rated for 4K ultra high definition resolution each of the four images will still be crystal clear from the back of the TOC.

Input Naming

An added benefit of Vellicom Tactical’s quad view image processors is that users are able to apply custom labels to each of the inputs displayed on the screen. Commanding officers will instantly know where information is coming from and be able to properly address questions to the appropriate member of the TOC staff.

This naming process is accomplished through Vellicom Tactical’s proprietary user interface that can be managed through a laptop or included touch panel control unit.

Selecting the right Audio/Video Distribution Unit

We offer three standard sizes of AVDCs, each with a different number of quad view processors, to cover the most common equipment packages found in a C2 environment. The AVDC-1 is ideally paired with a single display like our Power Lift 4K 60”, while the AVDC-3 works best with our Triple Projector or Video Wall Systems. Please contact us if you need assistance in specifying the right AVDC for TOC needs.
